Students and their families celebrated at the annual Creative Arts Show Awards prizegiving ceremony at the 私人午夜福利 Manchester.

The awards, covering a wide range of arts disciplines, were hosted by Sam Johnson, Head of the University鈥檚 School of Arts and Creative Technologies.

Sam praised the students鈥 鈥渇antastic work鈥, which will be on display to the public until Friday 19 June (excluding Sunday 14 June) on the University campus.

She said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 always a huge honour for me to be here to launch this exhibition and it鈥檚 wonderful to have you all here today. I am sure you will be absolutely bowled over.

鈥淭he arts and creative industries continue to flourish, diversify and thrive, whilst adapting to new technologies and a new world picture. Closer to home out students have continued to experiment, imagine, design, write and make.

鈥淚 want to thank the most important people in the room 鈥 our students. You are all fantastic. Well done to all of you and the families and friends who have supported you.鈥

As well as the awards, visitors were treated to a special preview of the work created by students, including textile design, fine art, photography, film and SFX makeup and models.

Luke Harmsworth, aged 22, from Greenwich, who graduates from the SFX Modelmaking for Film and TV degree course in the summer and won the Students鈥 Excellence award, said: 鈥淚t was a big surprise to win and it鈥檚 lovely to be recognised. It鈥檚 a real honour.

鈥淚 have absolutely loved the course and my time at the university. Now I just want to keep on making stuff and keep trying to get a job in film and TV.鈥

The Creative Show will be open to the public until 19 June, from 10am to 4pm daily (excluding Sunday 14 June).
