Our 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships recognise academic achievement and support talented international students to study at the 私人午夜福利 Manchester.
The scheme offers tuition fee discounts of up to 拢4,000 for eligible students across undergraduate, postgraduate taught and doctoral programmes, with additional awards available for specific groups.
Scholarship Structure
All 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships are awarded for Year 1 only and are based on academic merit.
Global Excellence Package
Available to self-funded students applying directly (not via an agent or government sponsor) from selected countries:
Countries: Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Tanzania, Senegal, Cote D鈥橧voire, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Morrocco, Libya, Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey, All countries in the EU, USA, Canada, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal, Brazil, Columbia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Dominican Republic.
Award levels
- Gold Award (First Class / 70% GPA or equivalent): 拢4,000 tuition fee discount
- Silver Award (Upper Second / 60% GPA or equivalent): 拢3,000 tuition fee discount
- Bronze Award (All other eligible applicants): 拢2,000 tuition fee discount

- Four-year undergraduate programmes with foundation years are eligible for the Bronze Award only.
- MRes programmes are not eligible.

The Global Scholars Awards represent the highest level of recognition within the 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships scheme.
These prestigious awards are designed to attract exceptional international students with outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential and global ambition, who will act as ambassadors for the 私人午夜福利 Manchester.

- 10 Global Scholars Awards, each offering a 拢5,000 tuition fee discount in Year 1
- Available to Undergraduate and PhD applicants only
- Applicants must be eligible for a Gold 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarship
- Awards are available to selected countries only (detailed above)
The Chancellor鈥檚 Excellence Scholar
From the Global Scholars Award recipients, one outstanding candidate will be selected as The Chancellor鈥檚 Excellence Scholar and will receive a 100% tuition fee discount for the first year of study.
Selection process for the Global Scholar Awards
- Separate application required
- Shortlisting based on academic excellence, personal statement and future impact
- Final selection includes an interview
These awards are competitive and limited in number, reflecting the University鈥檚 commitment to supporting the very best global talent.

Eligible students may also benefit from additional tuition fee discounts, which are applied at the point of CAS issuance. These include:

Terms and Conditions
1. General Conditions
1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all awards offered under the 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships scheme, including additional and Global Scholars Awards.
1.2 All scholarships are tuition fee discounts applied to the first year of study only.
1.3 Scholarships are non鈥憈ransferable, non鈥慸eferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
1.4 Scholarships are applied at enrolment and subject to verification of eligibility.
1.5 The University reserves the right to amend or withdraw scholarships at any time.
2. Eligibility 鈥� 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships
2.1 Applicants must:
- Be classified as an international fee鈥憄aying student
- Hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate, postgraduate taught or doctoral programme
- Be self鈥慺unded (government funded students are not eligible for any awards)
2.2 Global Excellence Package awards are available only to:
- Applicants from designated countries:

- Applicants from any other country other than the specific markets in 2.2
- Applicants using the services of a representative partner or agent
2.4 Awards are determined by highest verified academic qualification:
- Gold First Class / 70% GPA or equivalent
- Silver Upper Second / 60% GPA or equivalent
- Bronze All other eligible applicants
2.5 MRes programmes are excluded.
3. Additional Awards 鈥� Specific Conditions
3.1 Women in STEM Award
- 拢500 tuition fee discount (Year 1 only)
- Available to female applicants enrolled on eligible STEM courses in Engineering, Computing, Psychology, Medical Biology and Biomedical Sciences
- Can be combined with 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships
3.2 Alumni Progression
- 私人午夜福利 alumni progressing to a higher level of study having already studied at the 私人午夜福利 Manchester are eligible for the 私人午夜福利 Merit Package for a second time
- Eligibility applies up to five years after graduation
3.3 TNE Progression Award
- 拢500 tuition fee discount (Year 1 only)
- Available to students progressing from an approved overseas Trans-National Education partner 鈥� enquire for more details
- Only applicable where the applicant has not been referred via a representative partner or agent
3.4 Family Discount
- 拢500 tuition fee discount (Year 1 only)
- Available to immediate family members of current students or offer holders
- Immediate family members are defined as spouse or partner, parent, sibling, or child
- Relationship must be declared and verified at the point of enrolment

4.2 Chancellor鈥檚 Excellence Scholar
- One award covering 100% of tuition fees for Year 1 only
- Selected from Global Scholars Award applicants
4.3 Global Scholars Awards require a separate application and interview process.
5. Combination of Awards
5.1 私人午夜福利 Excellence Scholarships may be combined with additional awards unless stated otherwise.
5.2 The total value of combined awards may not exceed the total tuition fee for Year 1.
6. Withdrawal and Changes
6.1 Scholarships may be withdrawn if:
- An applicant withdraws or defers
- Conditions of offer are not met
- Information provided is found to be inaccurate
6.2 The University鈥檚 decision on scholarship eligibility is final.
The Greater Manchester Homecoming Scholarship
Are you a British citizen but liable for international tuition fees? You may qualify for a significant fee reduction that brings your costs in line with what home students pay.
The Greater Manchester Homecoming Scholarship is available to new students enrolling on undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the 私人午夜福利 Manchester from September 2026. If you are eligible, the discount will be applied to your fees automatically 鈥� there is nothing to apply for.
Who is this for?
This scholarship is for students who hold full British Citizenship but are classified as international fee payers because of where they live. It is not means-tested and not competitive 鈥� meet the criteria and you will receive it.
Am I eligible?
You are eligible if all of the following apply:
- You are a new student applying to start in September 2026, January 2027 or May 2027
- You hold a UK passport confirming your nationality as 鈥淏ritish Citizen鈥�
- You have unrestricted right to live, work and remain in the United Kingdom
- You are classified as an international fee payer
- You are enrolling on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree at our Bolton campus
Full British Citizenship is required. The scholarship does not apply to other forms of British nationality, including British Overseas Territories Citizen (BOTC), British National (Overseas) (BN(O)), British Overseas Citizen (BOC), British Protected Person (BPP) or British Subject status.
What will I pay?
The scholarship reduces your tuition fees to the same rate paid by home students, and is renewed automatically each year for the duration of your studies, provided you remain enrolled and retain international fee status.
Undergraduate degrees
- Standard international fee: 拢17,500 per year
- Fee after scholarship (home student rate): 拢9,535 per year
- Annual saving: 拢7,965
For a typical three-year undergraduate degree, this is a total saving of 拢23,895.
Postgraduate taught degrees
- Standard international fee: 拢17,500 per year
- Fee after scholarship (typical home student rate): 拢8,496 per year
- Annual saving: up to 拢9,004
Postgraduate fees vary by programme. Your offer letter will confirm the exact fee and saving that applies to your course.
What is not included?
The following are not eligible for this scholarship:
- PhD and doctoral programmes
- Undergraduate Medicine
- Part-time study
- Distance learning and online-only programmes
- Courses delivered through off-campus partners or transnational education (TNE) partnerships
- Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate and MRes programmes
- Students who defer their offer 鈥� deferral will result in loss of eligibility
- Current or continuing studentsy
This scholarship is only available to students who apply directly to the University of Greater Manchester. Applications made through an agent, overseas recruitment representative or any third-party recruitment partner are not eligible.
Students whose tuition fees are being met, in whole or in part, by a government sponsor, employer or any other external funding body are not eligible for this scholarship.
This scholarship cannot be combined with any other 私人午夜福利 Manchester scholarship or fee discount.
How does it work?
No application is needed. Once you hold an offer and our admissions team has confirmed your eligibility, the reduced fee will be reflected in your offer letter automatically.
Please note: receiving this scholarship does not guarantee your place at the University. You must still meet all academic entry requirements and any visa conditions that apply to your offer.
